Project Overview
ShopSmart needed to migrate from a monolithic legacy platform to a modern architecture that could support their growth trajectory. We rebuilt their entire commerce stack while maintaining zero downtime during the transition.
The Challenge
Migrating a live e-commerce platform with $50M+ in annual revenue without any downtime or data loss, while simultaneously improving performance and adding new features.
Our Solution
We implemented a strangler fig pattern, gradually replacing legacy components with new microservices. A headless commerce API powered by Laravel served both the web storefront (Vue.js) and a new mobile app.
The Results
Page load times improved by 60%, conversion rates increased by 23%, and the platform now handles 3x the traffic capacity. The migration was completed with zero downtime.
